Get the ball to Tony Gonzalez. Not exactly ground breaking strategy to have your young QB find the best TE to ever play the game. Still this is a good indication that Tony G will continue to put up top fantasy TE numbers and this is reflected on our cheat sheets. Also reflected in our player rankings on our cheat sheets is the reality that Roddy White simply won’t see as many balls this season.

Reports coming out of Detroit indicate that the Lions are confident that Matthew Stafford will win the starting QB job and be ready to go week 1 of the season.
FantasyDraftEdge.com Take
This is more about a lack of competition than a glowing endorsement of Stafford. If the #1 overall draft pick can’t beat out Dante Culpepper and Drew Stanton for the job you didn’t draft very well. We’ve expected all along that this is Stafford’s job to lose.

Looks like Seahawks offensive coordinator Greg Knapp prefers a 2, if not 3 running back system. Looks like the breakout year from Julius Jones many keep expecting to come in Seattle will have to wait. This moves Jones down a bit on our cheat sheets and gives bumps to TJ Duckett and sleeper Justin Forsett.
The multi back system is becoming more and more common. This makes true #1 workhorse RBs even more valuable on your fantasy team and does help bump up how early you want to take a top shelf WR.

Oh the joy of e-mail based draft, especially in the late rounds – it takes forever!
Rounds 15 and 16 concluded uneventfully really, people just grabbing kickers and taking longshots on guys who might possibly do something.
We’ll likely be involved in a few more mock drafts this summer and continue to bring them to you here and on Twitter.
You can take a look at our round-by-round recap of this mock draft here.
